The Library of Water is an art installation in Iceland. It depicts reflecting light through tubes of melted ice sourced from various glaciers throughout Iceland. Each tube of melted glacial ice has a corresponding word, intended, says the artist, to inspire an emotion in the viewer. There’s also a map showing the location of each glacial source.

For the artist, her intention was to play with light and space in a remote building on a remote island. For me, it’s a symbol of our impending doom. These glaciers are tens of thousands of years old and they’re all about to melt before our very eyes.
