One of the best reads on environmental law out there is Lazurus’s “The Greening of America and the Graying of United States Environmental Law.” Embedded in the tale of environmental legal history, Lazurus shows how the system works. Armed with this knowledge (which you, for the most part, will not get from pop-environmental authors and activists), you will be better prepared to interact with the existing system.
