Who pays when roads and homes are chewed away by beach erosion from a persistent sea? Should tax payers continue to be on the hook to repair these roads? Should home owners continue to get tax payer subsidies and support from the federal government (via FEMA etc.) when their homes are nearly washed away?
Erosion threatens cherished stretch at tip of Cape
- Steady erosion has gnawed away at Herring Cove Beach on Cape Cod, raising concern that the beach may have to close for repairs.
